ABOUND Volunteers
of all ages, abilities, and locations around Greater Cincinnati are needed to
build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Click
here to get involved. In
addition to unlimited volunteer needs at local branches, the YMCA's Community
Services branch leads a number of civic engagement initiatives for the Association.
As a "Y without walls," the Community Services YMCA (CSY) can be found
in some surprising places! CSY
partners with Cincinnati Public Schools to deliver an innovative network of programs
designed to support the district's community learning center plan. Within the
framework, CSY connects the CincyAfterSchool
program to 9 schools funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant
and many agency partners throughout the community.
CSY's
regional leadership of National Youth Service Day enables the YMCA to instill
a volunteer spirit in youth ages 10 to 25. This year's National Youth Service
Day celebration coincides with Earth Day on April 22, 2006. The YMCA is partnering
with Keep Cincinnati
Beautiful and the Great
American Clean-Up to reach over 10,000 volunteers throughout the tri-state
area. Learn more at www.ysa.org. We
also engage in collaborative partnerships, including an Asset Builders Alliance,
the Ohio Afterschool
Network, the Afterschool
Alliance, and the Abundant
Assets initiative. Coming
Soon... a searchable database of YMCA partnerships!
