Progressive Gymnastics Program
The Blue Ash YMCA is proud to offer a safe, fun and positive learning atmosphere for your children. Gymnastics takes time, patience, repetition, and a love of the sport in order to succeed. It is very important that parents and children understand that it takes a long time to achieve all the skills, strength, and flexibility necessary to advance to the next level. Children will progress to higher levels as skills and strength develops in each area of the sport: floor, vault, bars and beam. Progress in this sport can take time, therefore children can be expected to stay at the same level for several sessions. Your child must successfully pass (per their instructor) before registering for the next level. Please speak to your child’s instructor if you have any questions regarding registration.

For more information on the program or assistance with appropriately placing your child into the correct level, contact us at voice mail (513) 362-2000 x 2614.

Diabetes Prevention Program

Diabetes is a serious health condition that can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, high blood pressure, and blindness. Pre-diabetes is a potentially reversible condition that often leads to diabetes, and 79 million people in the United States are estimated to have it. If you have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, or believe you may be at risk for developing the disease, the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can help you develop a healthier lifestyle and work with you to reduce the risks this condition can pose to your health.

Based on effective efforts researched by the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program will help you learn about and adopt the healthy eating and physical activity habits that have been proven to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.  Through the program you will receive support and encouragement from both a trained lifestyle coach and fellow classmates as you develop a plan for improving and maintaining your overall well-being.

The YMCA’s DPP is a year long program consisting of 16 weekly core sessions followed by monthly maintenance sessions.  Individuals with health insurance provided by United Healthcare should check with their employer about the availability of this program as a covered benefit, or contact the Diabetes Prevention and Control Alliance to confirm eligibility at 1-800-237-4942.  Individuals with Medicare fee for service Part A &B should contact the Diabetes Prevention and Control Alliance at 1-855-215-0235.
