The St. Luke Hospitals Sports Health and Wellness Center merges advanced sports medicine and physical therapy techniques with wellness services, such as nutrition counseling and massage therapy to take a holistic approach to care. Our programs are located on the lower level of the R.C. Durr YMCA and complement their mission of building a healthy spirit, mind and body. Some of the St. Luke Sports Health and Wellness Center's Services Include:

PHYSICAL THERAPY
At The St. Luke Hospitals Sports Health and Wellness Centers, we offer outpatient physical therapy services. Our focus is to restore and improve your functioning ability and quality of life. Our physical therapists, part of Commonwealth Physical Therapy, will work with your physician to provide the best rehabilitation plan specific to you. Therapists are onsite to provide consultations, evaluations and implementation of your individualized treatment plan. Please consult your physician about receiving physical therapy through our program. We accept prescriptions from all physicians.

MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage is the method of soft tissue manipulation (skin and muscles) that results in an impressive range of benefits to your health and well-being. Massage therapy at The St. Luke Hospitals Sports Health and Wellness Centers is a family-oriented program available to anyone from adolescents to seniors. Both men and women can enjoy massages. Massages are scheduled by appointment only. Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

NUTRIMED WEIGHT LOSS
NutriMed is a liquid diet program that helps you lose your weight, not your health. If your goal is to lose 25 pounds or more, NutriMed may be for you. Lose three to five pounds per week with this medically-supervised program. There are no calories to count, no special meals to prepare-just the delicious and nutritious shakes and soups that help you lose weight quickly and safely. An introductory session to sample the supplements and ask questions is held on the third Wednesday of every month at 10:30am.

NUTRITION COUNSELING
Counseling sessions and classes are offered with a licensed dietitian.

  • Menu Planning - Planning and preparing a healthy meal for a family can be a daunting task. Let our dietitian help you develop a week worth of customized menus for you and your family. Menus will be tailored to your family's specific health needs and preferences.
  • Food Coaching - The St. Luke Hospitals Sports Health and Wellness Food Coaching Program provides one-on-one coaching by our dietitian to assist you in following a healthy diet. Travel with our dietitian to the grocery store to shop, go out for a meal to learn how to dine out while eating healthy and have your kitchen pantry assessed for nutritional adequacy. We're here to help you achieve your nutrition and health goals.
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy - Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) provides patients with the empowering information and philosophy they need to learn how to be healthy. MNT sessions incorporate lifestyle-related issues like stress management and body image into a nutrition treatment plan. Particular medical challenges such as irritable bowel syndrome are also addressed. All therapeutic plans are individualized. MNT ensures optimal and measurable health outcomes and cost effectiveness.

BRIDAL BOOT CAMP
Bridal Boot Camp can help you sculpt and reshape your body for your wedding. Meet one-on-one with our dietitian to develop a personalized meal plan. Let our exercise specialist provide you with an extraordinary cross-training experience blending yoga, aerobics and strength exercises help you get the results you want. After a hard workout, relax and enjoy a massage with our massage therapist. FIT FAMILIES
Learn how to develop a healthy eating and exercise routine for the whole family through in this 12-week program while bonding with your child(ren) and getting in shape. Classes meet every Monday from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Sessions focus on healthy eating and exercise principles. Families receive nutrition information, exercise tips and a weekly family exercise session. The program is designed to focus on behavioral modification to engage children and parents to make life-long changes. Call 859-334-4330 for more information.

SPORTS ENHANCEMENT
The St. Luke Hospitals Sports Health and Wellness Centers provide high school, college and recreational athletes with a quality performance enhancement program to improve athletic performance and decrease injuries. Sports enhancement is only available at the R.C. Durr YMCA location. Please call 859-334-4330 for more information.
Sports enhancement sessions can offer you a (an):

  • Individualized, sport-specific skill enhancement program
  • Comprehensive assessment to identify specific strengths and weaknesses
  • Improved speed, agility and quickness
  • Athlete to instructor ratio of no more than 5 to 1
  • State-of-the-art equipment and facilities.

Free Injury Assessments
Call ahead to schedule your complementary injury assessment. Licensed physical athletic trainers are available to evaluate your injury and provide you with a referral to a physician for advanced care.

FITNESS

  • Prenatal Yoga - Yoga classes are a great way to prepare for your baby's birth as well as to enjoy the company of other expecting women. Yoga is beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe deeply and relax, which will come in handy as you face the physical demands of labor, birth and motherhood. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-1:45 p.m. at the R.C. Durr YMCA. The cost is $10 per class or $125 for eight weeks.
  • Mommy & Me Class - Mommy & Me is for moms and infants up to 15 months. Spend quality time with your little one while you work up a sweat Stimulating exercises and mommy-infant touch enhances cognitive development of your baby. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:50-2:30 p.m. at the R.C. Durr YMCA. The cost is $10 per class or $125 for eight weeks.
  • Senior Fitness - Senior Fitness Days is an activity program that provides an opportunity for residents of Northern Kentucky who are age 55 and older to improve their health and well-being. Participants have access to the Sports Health and Wellness Center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 - 11 a.m. Registration is required and the cost is $8 per week or $3 per day.
