Through
Y Be A Loser, you will learn the benefits of fitness and nutrition and how to
include them in your daily routine. This is a six-week program that begins with
a nutrition seminar that leads into your first fitness consultation. After the
first week you will meet with a personal trainer to monitor your progress and
make changes as needed. Everyone who completes the program will receive a T-shirt
and a new outlook on healthy living. Sign-ups are limited to the first 20 participants.

Please
come to the Front Desk for a Group Exercise schedule that includes days and times
for the following classes. All group exercise programs are included in your membership.
Program Participants purchase a card for $75 for any class, land or water. Cards
are valid for one session. We reserve the right to cancel any
program with less than 6 participants throughout the session. Classes will go
on as scheduled as long as the building is open. If registered participants do
not show to a class for 3 consecutive classes, we reserve the right to reopen
that position on the roster.
- Cardio/Ball
This
program combines high & low, easy-to-follow steps for 35 minutes of cardiovascular
conditioning. The stability ball is used to incorporate upper body and core muscle
strengthening for a total body workout.
- Cardio
Circuit SilverSneakers
Combine
fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular endurance power with a standing
circuit workout.
- Step
Aerobics
A high intensity, low impact aerobic program for men and women.
The program involves stepping up and down on an adjustable platform while simultaneously
performing upper body movements.
- Step
and Strength
This
classs combination of a stepping routine and toning exercises will help
you get a tight, toned body.
- Cardio
Kickboxing
A
non-contact aerobic workout that incorporates kicks, punches and strength moves.
- Muscle
Pump
This
class concentrates on isolating all muscles with and without free weights. Class
starts with 2-3 minutes warm up then stretching followed by isolation work and
combinations of all the major muscle groups.
- Zumba
Combines
high energy and motivating music with unique dance moves and combinations that
allow the Zumba participants to dance their way to fitness.
- Stability
Ball
This
class uses stability balls to strengthen and stretch while emphasizing core muscle
strength.
- Pilates
Builds stamina, improves core muscle control and relieves stress.
- Gentle
Yoga
A
traditional yoga class that provides modifications on postures, gentle flexibility,
as well as strength and relaxation.
- Fitness
Yoga
Explore
the spirit, mind and body connection of basic fitness yoga; strength, flexibility
and relaxation.
- Gentle
Motion
This is a chair exercise program that promotes flexibility, range of motion,
strength, endurance, balance and coordination. Drop-in classes. PAY AS YOU GO
available to non-YMCA members.
- Silver
Sneakers
Muscular Strength & Range of Movement. Have fun and move to the
music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range
of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing
with handles and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated
and/or standing support. PAY AS YOU GO available to non-YMCA members - $2/class.
- Kick
Fusion
A
combination of Circuit and Interval training that incorporates kick boxing, dance,
strength and plyometrics.
- Circuit
Training
An
energetic workout that combines cardio segments and strength.
FAMILY
FITNESS DAY Children ages 10-15 may come in to the fitness center
with their parents for a supervised workout. They will receive an orientation,
along with a recommended program to follow, by one of our trained staff. There
will be a three hour window on Sunday afternoons that will be closely supervised
by a trainer, along with the parents, to help the children successfully complete
their fitness routine. PERSONAL TRAINING A
personal trainer will provide individual instruction throughout your entire workout
session. This is an excellent benefit if you are:
- In
need of a more advanced or sport-specific program
- A
graduate of the Y Personal Fitness Program
- Have
special needs/considerations
- Would
benefit from immediate feedback and frequent changes in your workout

qualified trainers will evaluate your fitness level and design a specific program
for you based on your goals.

EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION Hour-long
orientations to the Health and Fitness Center are offered on a daily basis and
are scheduled by the fitness staff. To schedule an appointment, call 661-1105. MY
Y FITNESS PROGRAM The My Y Fitness Program was designed for health
seekers who dont want or need the full attention of a personal trainer,
but still would benefit from an individually developed workout routine. After
a personal trainer meets with you to discuss your goals and desired outcomes,
your personalized fitness routine will be developed. After nine weeks, you will
meet again with your trainer to check your progress and reformulate your personalized
routine. TEENFIT Course length: 4
hours - Teacher/Student ratio: 8:1 The Teenfit program provides teens with
the necessary education and practical experience to live healthier lives through
cardiovascular fitness, strength training, basic knowledge of anatomy, flexibility,
nutrition, and injuries and prevention. Teens, ages 13-15*, are required to complete
this course for access to the fitness center. Teens will learn how to properly
operate all fitness equipment, design their own workouts, and exercise intelligently,
safely, and effectively, the four core values, basic healthy nutritional information,
and much more. Completion of this course designates the privilege to utilize the
fitness facilities and acknowledges hard work and dedication.
