CLIPPARD YMCA VOLLEYBALL CLUB IS ON FACEBOOK!
Click here and join our facebook group. You will recieve updates on schedules, how our teams are doing, what are players are doing in our community etc. Show your support for our Club!

2010 PRICES
The current cost for club continues to rise in our region and we are doing our best to keep costs low for our members as well as staying competitive in the region. The cost of the 2010 Club Season will be determined by the amount of players who accept our offers, amount of tournaments, and the availability of gym time. Look in the coming weeks for prices to be posted once our budget has been approved.

Based on the amount of athletes we have show up to tryouts and keep per team, the cost for the 2010 season can be anywhere from $575-$650. The more athletes we keep, the lower cost to you so please encourage your friends and neighbors to come out as well!

2010 PAYMENT SCHEDULE

  • First payment will be due 10 days after the tryout.
  • Second payment due December 15, 2009
  • Third payment due January 10, 2009
  • Fourth & Final payment due February 1, 2009

Payments must be received by 3:00pm on the due date or it is considered late and your athlete will be asked to sit out of practice until payment is in.

NEW OVR RULES FOR THE 2010 SEASON

  • Team shorts must be identical. That means extraneous designs or pin-striping are not considered identical to plane shorts, even if the shorts are otherwise the same color.
  • Net contact rule: In essence, contact with the net is not a fault unless it interferes with play. "Interferes with play" is specifically defined as contacting the top band of the net; taking support from the net while playing the ball; creating an advantage over the opponent; or making actions which hinder the opponent's opportunity to play the ball. That means there will be fewer net calls this year. I encourage you to view the following video on YouTube to familiarize yourself with how this rule will be applied: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ1FHRVPIqc
  • Center line rule: The rule is the same regarding a player's foot/feet – the foot/feet must be on/above the centerline. However, any body part above the feet may cross the centerline and touch the opponent's court provided this does not interfere with play.

For a complete list of the changes to the 2009-2010 Season please visit http://ovr.org/officiating/rule_changes.php

PRACTICES
Practices will begin the week of January 4, 2010. Each team will have two 2-hour practices per week for a total of four hours practice time. One session will be held on a week night either at the Clippard YMCA or Mt. Airy Elementary, depending on the day and the other session will be on a Sunday morning/ evening (the schedule rotates so that each team has early, mid afternoon, and late practices). Practices will be determined depending on gym schedule and coaches' work/family schedules.

TOURNAMENTS
We are a low travel club, meaning we participate in up to 5 tournaments (beginning in February/March) that are up to or less than an hour away from our base in Cincinnati, OH. This usually includes Northern Kentucky, Oxford, Mason, Lebanon, Middletown, Dayton etc. Our regional tournament will be held in May in Columbus, Ohio and is the only overnight tournament offered.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The YMCA offers affordable programs and services designed to benefit people of all incomes and backgrounds. Fees are based on the actual cost to provide each program. The YMCA uses contributed funds from the Strong Kids Campaign to ensure those unable to pay the stated fees are able to participate. If fees are a concern, please inquire at the Welcome Center for a scholarship application form. All records and inquiries are kept confidential, and the form is simple to complete. Please do not hesitate to email Kristin Jahn at clippardvolleyballclub@yahoo.com with specifics regarding financial assistance. I will do my best to help in anyway possible. If you do not think you can afford club volleyball but would like your daughter to tryout please fill out a scholarship form ahead of time and give it to the Welcome Center or my mailbox (there is about a 2 week processing time on forms).

PAYMENT PLANS
If you do not qualify financially for scholarships through the Strong Kids Campaign, we can offer to put you on a payment plan. These are based on financial need and special circumstances. We can extend your payment period or create a payment schedule, for example $50 due every two weeks until balance is paid off. Please contact Kristin Jahn at clippardvolleyballclub@yahoo.com to set up a payment plan.

CONTACT
Most contact is done through email at clippardvolleyballclub@yahoo.com. Although if you need to reach me by phone you can call and leave a voicemail at (513) 362-2000 x 2562. I will be checking it when I am in the office, but email comes directly to my personal phone and could be answered quicker than a voicemail. Please do not call the Clippard YMCA Front Desk to contact our coaching staff. If you need to reach them, you should have recieved their personal phone numbers at the Parent Meeting in Decemeber, if not their emails are below.
