PROGRESSIVE GYMNASTICS CLASSES
Based on the national YMCA gymnastics program, our gymnastics program is designed to teach gymnastics skills in a progressive manner, so participants feel success along the way and are ready for new skills at the appropriate time. Consequently, specific skills must be achieved before students move to the next level. Due to the difficulty of certain skills, children will not always move on after one session of instruction. If you have any questions about classes, please ask Julie Fox, Gymnastics Coordinator.

POLICIES AND GUIDELINES
NO FOOD, DRINK OR GUM DURING LESSONS

Our commitment to the safety of the gymnast and to others in the gym. Therefore the following guidelines have been set in place.

  • Please have your child prepared for lessons before the class begins:
    • Arrive early for class.
    • Have your child use the rest room before class.
    • Have long hair pulled back into a ponytail.
    • Barefoot for class.
  • We ask that you, the parent or guardian, remain seated in the designated area.
  • If there are other children with you please have them remain seated with you at all times. If you find you have the need, the nursery is available for your use. If the nursery is closed, you must remain with the child in the nursery. Please be respectful and leave the nursery as you found it.
  • Please refrain from interacting with your child during class. It is very important that we have the child’s full attention.
  • Ask the supervisor before using flash photography. We share our gym time with the team members. These gymnasts are performing more difficult elements everyday and flash photography is very distracting and could lead to injury.

Attire
A leotard or shorts with an elastic waist (no jeans or jean shorts) and T-shirt will be fine, we need clothing to be form fitted so it will not get in the way of instructors spotting your child.

Since every child develops differently, we reserve the right to move children to a more skill appropriate level.

Please let us know immediately if you are not satisfied with you child’s lessons, so that we can make the appropriate changes. Gymnastics Supervisor.
