On September 16-24, M.E. Lyons YMCA Senior Program Director Brian Rawlings was afforded the opportunity via the International Commitee of the YMCA of Greater Cinncinati to travel to the Ukraine. Here Brian was able to see YMCA programs in action, meet the dynamic volunteers who lead this importanat mission work and gain the knowledge and respect of that work being done everyday half-way across the world. The International Committee sponsored a 3-day camp for young adults ages 18-24 where they spent time in friendly competitions invloving art, sports, games, intellectual and songs / skits. Their energy and spirit were incredible and were very indicitive of that found throughout this proud country who is striving with great resovle to better themselves. The YMCA truly is alive and well in the Ukraine and it is the hope of all involved that this effort will open the doors to future collaborative efforts between our asscoiation and the YMCA of the Ukraine.
