Youth in Action!
Youth in City Government, Youth Council members in partnership with Riverview East Academy Community Learning Center hosted a candidates night on October 30th. Nine candidates were represented: - Laketa Cole, George Zamary, Chris Monzel, Melanie Bates, Wendell Young, Minette Cooper, Jeff Berding, Dan Jeffree on behalf of Justin Jeffree and Brian Garry. Each candidate had 5 minutes to share why they were running for council followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Students from Riverview East, Hughes Center High School, School of Creative & Performing Arts, Summit Country Day and Mother of Mercy assisted. Student Success is a Community Priority!
The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Community Services Branch, its CincyAfterSchool network are working with Strive to enrich opportunities for Student Success in the Tri-State Area. Strive's goals are ambitious but critical, that every child will: Be PREPARED for school, Be SUPPORTED inside and outside of school, SUCCEED academically, ENROLL in college, GRADUATE and ENTER A CAREER. Clothing for Kids
Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency's motto is "We make things happen." They sure do! Through the donation of a generous clothing manufacturer, CAA is providing sweatshirts, jerseys, pants and other sports and casual wear to CincyAfterSchool kids.
