Youth Learns Honesty at Teen Center!
There's a young man who comes almost daily to the Teen Center who has struggled staying in school due to his behavior. Now attending the Phoenix Academy Learning Program, he's becoming a success story, both through his behavior and attitude. Lacking assets in the past, he did something out of the ordinary. He spoke up when a staff member forgot to charge him for a soft drink. All of the staff members have worked with him at length on being respectful of others' property, and it's always encouraging to see asset development start "sinking in." CincyAfterSchool Tutors Working With Family of Six
A unique story: Six children (ages 6-14), all part of the same family, are engaged in intensive tutoring sessions at Pleasant Ridge Library, in preparation for the upcoming school year at various Cincinnati schools. With the help of three tutors, the children are primarily focusing on intensive math and reading work. Through the tutoring program, the children will not lose academic progress over the summer.
